Bio

Mexico (1993)

I am a sound artist, composer, and drummer, currently based in Mexico City.

In recent years, my work has focused on the composition of experimental electroacoustic music, contemporary music, and spontaneous creation (free improvisation). I use field recordings as the main sonic and structural source, improvise with digital tools, and develop new musical notations that promote different approaches to the relationship between the performer and sound exploration. My music maintains a constant closeness to timbral exploration and the development of polyphonic textures created by simultaneous layers with irregular rhythmic cycles, noise, and static harmonies.

I have developed my career as a composer and performer across various fields such as contemporary music, experimental electronic music, free improvisation, theater, dance, film, and television. My music has been presented in different venues across Mexico, Germany, Spain, and Canada, by performers such as Bogi Nagy, CEPROMUSIC, Taller Sonoro Ensemble, Bozzini Quartet, Irvinne Arditti, Wapití Ensemble, Mauricio Nader, Juanra Urrusti, and myself.

Since 2016, I have been teaching the History of Western Music course at the Center for Research and Music Studies (CIEM) in Mexico City.

In addition to my solo projects, I collaborate collectively as a composer, producer, and performer in the bands:

PAI PAI (garage, punk and psychedelic music) drums and voice.

Mansión de Ancianas (noise, techno, and free improvisation) computer, synths and drums.
